This magical kid's Holiday table is sure to leave your kiddos with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads long after Christmas is over!
Christmas is going to be here before we know it, and I'm filled with memories of Christmas as a child. When you are a child, Christmas is the most magical time of year. I remember the excitement of putting up our tree and admiring all of the twinkling lights, anticipating the arrival of Santa and listening for his sleigh's bells, and of course, spending time with family and friends on Christmas Day. The only thing that I don't remember being that magical at Christmas was the dreaded kid's table. Remember the kid's table? Ours was usually some makeshift set up...like an old card table and a bunch of mismatched chairs...some of them folding. The "adult's table" was always decorated so elegantly with tablerunners, cloth napkins and lit candles while we got a card table...ugh.
This year, I wanted to create the most magical kid's table I could imagine, so I teamed up with my friends at Wayfair to set the most magical kid's table ever! I really dug deep on this one and went back to what I would have loved as a child. The one word I could think of was candy! Of course, all kids love candy, so I set forth to make a candy themed kid's table that would even make the adults jealous!
I partnered with Wayfair to bring you this Magical Holiday Kid's Table and Waffle Bar. All ideas, photos and opinions are 100% mine. For a complete list of items shown, see the bottom of this post. Affiliate links included.
Kids love getting up early on Christmas so they can check their stockings and open gifts, so I thought a magical Christmas breakfast would be the perfect follow up. I set up a Belgian Waffle Bar with all kinds of toppings!
Our kid's table will be in the breakfast nook. I started by adding a then pencil tree decorated with candy red apple garland, white pinecones, forest animals, and candy ornaments. Candy cane striped dishes are stacked on chalkboard placemats so that when the kiddos are finished with their meal, there is something fun to keep them busy while the adults enjoy their meal as well. Apothecary jars hold candy treats, and sprinkles line the middle of the table.
Instead of place cards, I used chalkboard snowman hat ornaments so the kiddos would have a little treat to hang on the tree to remind them of their special meal. Hopefully they will have memories of this one for a long time to come. Each child also has their own mini bottle of maple syrup too...I thought they were the perfect touch!
I'll have each child bring me their plate so I can give them a waffle, then let the fun begin! They can top them with whipped cream, fruit, chocolate chips or sprinkles.
Serve the waffles with a glass of cold milk or some hot cocoa, and really let the kiddos enjoy the most magical breakfast ever!
No worries...this candy loving Nutcracker will keep an eye on the little ones while the adults have their coffee.
And, hey! The adults can enjoy the waffle bar too! I know I will!

The awesome thing about setting the kid's table for breakfast is that you can use it again later in the day too!
